About Me

My name is Phil (A.K.A. Gub). I’m a passionate Pre-Service Primary Teacher from Melbourne, Australia. Thank you so much for taking the time to learn a little bit more about me.

I am blessed to be able to do what I truly love to do.

I have a wonderful family who supports me with my passion.

When I’m not studying, I spend my time trail running, reading, volunteering, and cooking amazing meals.
I’m very passionate about photography, film-making and music production. I truly love how hard work and fine detail can produce amazing results.

Growing up, learning was everything for me. I loved to do homework, and I loved to learn! Through Grades 5 and 6, I participated in the Zenith Gifted Student Enrichment Program at Mater Christi College, Belgrave, Australia. I was then fortunate to be accepted into an Accelerated Learning Program at Wheelers Hill Secondary College.

Throughout my life, I’ve worked in various Hospitality, Customer Service, Information Technology, Administration and English Teaching jobs.

I spent most of my evenings learning and pushing myself to do more.

Why am I a Teacher?

My teaching career began after my father tragically passed away in 2007. I decided to follow his dream to be an English Teacher. This led me to some incredible experiences in Vietnam. When I returned home to return to my ‘normal’ office job, I couldn’t stop thinking about how incredible it was to teach. I couldn’t get it out of my mind! After my second experience teaching in Vietnam, I really wanted to be a full-time teacher and live the rest of my days as an Educator.
